First travel-related Zika case in Brazoria County

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – The first travel-related Zika case has been reported in Angleton, according to Brazoria County officials.

County officials have been monitoring for mosquito related illnesses and have found no evidence of mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission in the County, according to the Disease Control and Prevention Services.

According to County officials, to date, there have been over 200 travel related Zika virus cases reported in the State of Texas.
