The crash severely injured both men’s legs, and they were taken to Memorial Herman Woodlands Hospital by Cy-Creek EMS, deputies said.

Villarreal fled the scene after the crash with her 5-year-old daughter in the back seat, according to authorities.
Deputies said they chased Villarreal and took her into custody.

"Investigating units detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of Ms. Villarreal and completed on-scene field sobriety testing. A search warrant was obtained authorizing the collection of a blood sample as part of the investigation," Constable Mark Herman said.

Villarreal is charged with intoxication assault and evading in a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $35,000.
