Man breaking into pickup shoots 2 women who saw him, police say
Women are in stable condition, officials say
HOUSTON – Two women leaving a bar were shot by a would-be vehicle burglar early Sunday morning, according to police.
The shooting happened about 1:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Chulas Sport Cantina at Southwest Freeway and Bissonnet Street.
According to Houston police, two women were leaving the bar when they noticed a man breaking into a pickup in the parking lot. The women stopped and called 911.
Police said the man noticed the two women watching him, so he pulled out a gun and shot them. The women ran out of the parking lot to a nearby gas station to ask for help.
One woman was shot in the hand and the other was shot in the leg, according to officers.
The Houston Fire Department said they took the women to the hospital in stable condition.
Officers said they are still searching for the man who attempted to break into the truck.
