Materials for pipe bomb found inside man's vehicle, police say

Police don't know why he had materials

DEER PARK, Texas – A man who police said had all of the materials for a pipe bomb in his vehicle was arrested Sunday.

Deer Park police said they pulled over Allen Macyko and  learned through a shared computer network that a pipe bomb was found inside the vehicle with the same driver last March.

Officers searched Macyko’s vehicle and found all the materials necessary to assemble a pipe bomb, police said.

The items included a 36 inch metal pipe, marbles, ball bearings, bullets, gunpowder, blasting caps and a fuse.

Macyko was arrested for possessing components of explosives and was charged in Harris County.

The case is under investigation by the Deer Park Police Department.
