Trio attempted to pick up ATM after knocking it over inside, Crime Stoppers says

HOUSTON – Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding three people who used a stolen pickup truck to smash into a grocery store and attempt to steal an ATM, Crime Stoppers of Houston said.

It happened at 3:46 a.m. Aug. 3 at a grocery store in the 12800 block of Hempstead Highway.

Authorities said the trio used a stolen red pickup truck to back into the front doors of the business.

They used the truck to smash through the front of the business until they managed to knock over the ATM inside, authorities said.

Surveillance video captured the trio as they got out of the truck and attempted to pick up the ATM. They were unsuccessful, and authorities said they abandoned the truck and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Crime Stoppers said it will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the charging and/or arrest of those responsible in this case.
