Man accused of attempting to rape woman who arrived home from work

HOUSTON – A man is charged after an attempted sexual assault at a west Houston apartment complex.

Investigators are looking into whether Myron Washington was behind multiple attacks on women at Woodlake on the Bayou apartments on Briar Forest Drive near Tanglewilde.

"And he told her, 'I finally got you,'" the victim's sister, whom we are only identifying as Brittney, said.

She said the man grabbed her sister from behind and attempted to rape her Thursday night. The attempt was thwarted because Brittney heard her sister's scream.

"My mom came out first and she was like, 'What are you doing? What are you doing?' And then he was pulling up his pants and then he took off," Brittney said.

She said the worst part is they think the man had been watching her sister for a long time.

"She comes home at the same time almost every day, in her uniform, so you know it's her, and she leaves at the same time every day, so it was almost like he had been watching her for a while," she said.

But she also said they are not the only ones he's after, claiming police have received similar reports.

"They said he's been busy tonight and there was three other women that called that he'd attacked," Brittney said.

The apartment complex said they could not comment on the incident due to resident confidentiality but said they do hire security.

Brittney said there was no security officer on the premises Thursday night.

Her warning now is for other women in this area to be on the lookout.

Washington, 26, is charged with sexual assault.
