HPD patrol unit involved in crash

Officer not injured

Houston police are on the scene Friday morning after a car hit a patrol unit in southwest Houston.

Investigators said the officer was turning onto South Gessner Road and the civilian car was turning onto South Braeswood.

No one was injured.

The car apparently hit the patrol unit on the passenger side.

Investigators said both drivers thought they had the green light at the time of the crash.

Officers on the scene said they were not sure which direction actually had a green light.

A wrecker removed the patrol car from the scene around 5:15 a.m.

Emergency crews are still on the scene.
