Houston woman detained in China, charged with spying

HOUSTON – There are new developments in a story we've been following for more than a year.

The Houston woman detained in China is facing new problems as people fight to bring her home.

Sandy Phan-Gillis has just been indicted on charges of spying.

We spoke to her husband last September.

He told us she was arrested last March while on a trip with the City of Houston to promote trade.

Since then, members of the group "Save Sandy" have been trying to get her released.

Phan-Gillis faces up to life in prison if convicted of spying.
