Former VP Al Gore visits Houston to talk climate change

Former Vice President Al Gore speaking at Climate Reality Project event in Houston

Former Vice President Al Gore stopped in Houston to talk about climate change at the Hilton Americas-Houston downtown today.

His visit was part of the Climate Reality Project, an organization dedicated to create a healthy environment and shift to affordable renewable energy.

Gore is the founder and chairman of the organization.

Tuesday Gore delivered opening remarks to a special event that will last through Thursday.

Gore complimented the state of Texas for its efforts to fight the effects of climate change by saying, "Texas has also been leading the way in some impressive regards with wind power, more than any other state. The potential for solar here is fantastic."

Gore will lead a panel called "Funding Climate Denial" on Thursday.
