Man charged with hitting teenage daughter with cord

HOUSTON – A man is in custody after authorities say he beat his 14-year-old daughter with an electrical cord. Francisco Javier Aranda-Quintanilla, 32, is charged with injury to a child.

The incident was reported Aug. 7 in the 300 block of Victoria after Aranda-Quintanilla caught his daughter talking on the phone with a boy. He then tied her hands with a belt and beat her with a cord, according to Houston police.

Aranda-Quintanilla kicked the girl out of the house the next day after he caught her talking to another boy on the phone, police said. She went to a friend’s house for help, and police were called.

He is facing charges in Harris County.
