3rd travel-related Zika case reported in Galveston County

GALVESTON, Texas – A third case of travel-related Zika virus has been confirmed in Galveston County.

Galveston County released a statement that reads in part: "As with any public health threat, our epidemiology team is communicating with the medical community about testing patients with symptoms. These are the things our epidemiologists do every day to protect your health and well-being."

Here is a list of the three cases:

  • Male between the age of 60 and 70 who was infected in Dominica. There is no evidence of local transmission and the patient is expected to recover. (News Release)
  • Female between the age of 60 and 70 who was infected in Dominica. There is no evidence of local transmission and the patient is expected to recover. (News Release)
  • Female between the age of 20 and 30 who was infected in the Dominican Republic. There is no evidence of local transmission and the patient has recovered. (News Release)
