Officials said a construction crew hit an 8-inch gas line around 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Jackrabbit Road at Highway 6.

While emergency crews worked to fix the leak, vehicular traffic on Jackrabbit Road and nearby feeder roads, as well as all train traffic, was stopped.

The Cy-Fair Fire Department said around 9:30 p.m. the gas line had been clamped at the site of leak. An hour later the area was deemed safe and the roads were reopened.
