Woman claims ex-boyfriend set her house on fire
HOUSTON – A woman is salvaging what's left of her southeast Houston home after flames ripped through it Sunday morning.
The victim told KPRC 2 News she believes her ex-boyfriend is behind the fire that caused extensive damage to her house.
"I couldn't take it anymore and I asked him to leave and this is what I got in return," said the woman, who instead of showing her face, said she'd rather the damage and story speak for itself.
"I got off work at 4 a.m. this morning," she said.
Her ex-boyfriend was at her home on the corner of Southridge and Crestville, but he was an unwelcome visitor.
"We had been having problems and I just decided enough was enough," she said.
The woman said while she went across to her neighbor's place, her ex loaded his stuff into his van.
"The way it looks in the inside, it was like he didn't care if somebody was in there or not," the woman said.
Despite the pain of losing her home she said she can at least find solace that she and her two young children made it out safely.
