HOUSTON – The Green Party formally nominated Jill Stein as the party's presidential nominee at the University of Houston Saturday afternoon.

During her acceptance speech, Stein took hits at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, saying elections shouldn't be about the lesser of two evils.

She was echoed and endorsed by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who appeared through a live video feed.

Ajamu Baraka was confirmed as the Green Party's vice-presidential nominee.

The convention's theme was 'Houston, We Have A Solution: Vote Green 2016.' Other speakers Saturday included Dr. Cornel West and YahNe Ndgo.
