Houston police officer faces charges
Officer accused of selling concealed handgun licenses without proper requirement
HOUSTON – An 18-year veteran of the Houston Police Department has been charged with tampering with a government record.
HPD said Pedro Padilla was detained on Thursday. He is accused of selling concealed handgun licenses without requiring the mandatory four to six hours of classroom training.
HPD said Padilla has been relieved of his duty pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation. He is out on a $10,000 bond.
