Heroin charges dropped when test reveals it's brown sugar

Police thought suspect had black tar heroin

(LAKANA) – A 28-year-old North Dakota woman accused of possessing heroin with the intent to deliver had charges dropped when a test revealed the sticky substance was brown sugar.

Authorities arrested the woman after officers say they saw a digital scale in her bra and watched her dispose of a used syringe, The Bismark Tribune reported.

The woman removed a bag from her genitals and tried to swallow it when she was booked; authorities thought the bag contained black tar heroin, the Tribune reported.
