HOUSTON – A man was taken to the hospital early Friday after his SUV got stuck between a freeway and a palm tree.
Houston police said the driver was heading north on Gulf Freeway around 3 a.m. when he apparently lost control of his SUV around Shaver Street, jumped a curb and ran into several saplings.

The vehicle came to a rest against a concrete freeway support structure.
The impact destroyed the SUV, and firefighters had to extricate the SUV.
He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
