Tajikistan to fine reporters for using complicated words
Reporters could pay up to $100
Tajikistan is cracking down on reporters who use words that readers don't understand.
Journalists can be fined up to $100 for using complicated words, while companies would be fined up to $200, according to RadioFreeEurope.
"There are instances of some journalists using up to 10 words that are not understandable to a regular reader, viewer, or listener in their content in a single day. By doing so, they are grossly violating the norms of official language," a head of the country's terminology committee said at a press event.
