Reported high-rise apartment fire in southwest Houston turns out to be false alarm
HOUSTON – A call Monday for a high-rise apartment building fire in southwest Houston turned out to be a false alarm.
A person who called 911 reported seeing smoke coming from the 30th floor of the complex in the 3800 block of Richmond.
Firefighters also saw what appeared to be smoke coming from the building.
After further investigation, HFD found that a worker was grinding and chipping concrete on the tenth floor. There was concrete dust in the apartment the could be seen from the balcony window.
No fire was found, investigators said.
