Police release sketch of man wanted for assault

HOUSTON – Houston police are asking for help in finding a man wanted for assaulting another man with a machete.

The victim, 25, was leaving for work at 1:55 a.m. July 6 when his vehicle was struck by another man's vehicle at the 9500 block of Jaywood, according to police.

The driver fled the scene and the victim chased him.

Police said both men got out of their vehicles to exchange information when the unidentified driver pulled out a machete and began chasing the victim. The victim suffered major injuries from the machete and because he fell as he ran.

The man with the machete is described as a Hispanic male with a medium build, a partial mustache and a three-day beard. He smelled of alcohol and was driving a 1997-2000 white Ford pickup truck that was missing the driver's side mirror.
