Hit-and-run driver wanted

HOUSTON

Houston police are looking for a driver they say is responsible for a hit-and-run on the Gulf Freeway.

Police say a man was riding his motorcycle southbound on 15700 block of the Gulf Freeway on July 13 when a driver hit the motorcycle from behind, causing him to crash into a concrete barrier. The driver fled without rendering aid to the victim, who suffered severe lacerations and several broken bones.

Witnesses described the hit-and-run driver's vehicle as possibly a Jeep Cherokee with paper plates and said the person was driving recklessly in the southbound lanes.

Investigators discovered the driver was involved in another accident prior to hitting the motorcyle and was attempting to flee that location.
