Man runs from deputy after being handcuffed, arrested for possession of marijuana

HOUSTON – A man is being held without bond after being arrested for possession of marijuana and running from a Constable Precint 4 deputy.

Marcon Jaimes, 24, was pulled over on July 14 in the 14700 block of Ella Boulevard. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle.

The officer found marijuana inside the vehicle and attempted to arrest Jaimes. Jaimes physically resisted arrest, but after a struggle, the deputy was able to handcuff him.

While walking to the patrol car, Jaimes jerked away from the deputy and ran from the scene. The deputy caught Jaimes after about 100 yards.

“Further investigation by Deputy Barragan revealed that Jaimes was in possession of 11.37 ounces of marijuana,” Constable Mark Herman said.

Jaimes was arrested, charged with felony possession of marijuana and escape, and booked into the Harris County Jail.
