HOUSTON – If your child has sophisticated taste buds and some mad skills in the kitchen, tie on their apron and get them downtown this weekend.
There is a open casting call for British chef Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef Junior.
Auditions for the popular reality cooking competition TV show are Saturday at The Four Seasons downtown, but you have to pre-register online. The deadline to sign up is noon Friday.
Producers are looking for 24 aspiring chefs, ages 8 to 13 years old for the show's next season.
After you pre-register, fill out an application and bring it with you Saturday along with your child and an apron. By the end of the competition, they could walk away $100,000 richer. That could buy a whole lot of cookbooks.
Your child will find our Saturday if they are selected for a call back. If chosen for the show, the 24 candidates must commit to nine weeks between October and December for the competition and taping of the show.
Producers say a teacher will be on the set so kids don't fall behind with school work.
