Deputy injured after crashing into disabled car in Huffman

HOUSTON – A Harris County deputy and another driver are recovering after a crash in Huffman.

Investigators said the deputy was driving eastbound on FM 1960 and East Lake Houston at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when he hit the back of a disabled Chevrolet, sending it into a ditch.

The Chevy, which was sitting in the inside lane with its lights out at the time of the crash, had rear-ended a Toyota Camry 10 to 20 minutes earlier, deputies say.

The deputy suffered a possible broken left arm. The driver of the Chevy is in the hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the Camry was not hurt.

Deputies are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash between the Chevy and the Camry.
