Former Dallas police officer gets memorial ink at Houston tattoo shop

HOUSTON – A former Dallas Police Department officer was at a Houston tattoo parlor Monday night, where he got ink to honor officers killed in the recent ambush.

Sgt. Daryell Harmon went to Prison Break Tattoos at 5306 Washington Ave. and had an artist tattoo the DPD badge and the date of the Dallas police shooting on his forearm.

He said he went to Prison Break because he wanted to get the best.

Harmon retired from the force early — almost five years ago. He was a defensive tactic instructor. One of the officers killed in the shooting was an instructor with him and another officer was a recruit he helped train.
