Man stabbed with machete while driving in NW Houston

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is in the hospital after he was attacked by a suspect wielding a machete in northwest Houston.

According to police, the man was driving from his girlfriend’s house just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of West Gulf Bank Road and Jaywood Street. About  a block away from the home, the man got  out of the car and officials believe that is when he was stabbed. The wounded man stumbled back to his girlfriend's house, police said.  

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Police are investigating if road rage was a factor after they found damage to the rear bumper of the man's Dodge Charger.

No arrests have been made.
