Alleged purse snatcher shoots woman in chest in NW Houston
HOUSTON – A woman was shot in the chest and robbed of her purse on May 13 around 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Easton Commons and Sunbury Lane, and police are offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the man responsible for the act.
Police said the woman had just deposited her paycheck at a nearby ATM and was walking home when the man approached her, pulled out a handgun and demanded her purse. After a brief struggle, the man gained control of the purse and shot the woman in the chest.
According to police, the man then got into a white, four-door vehicle on the passenger side and the vehicle left the scene, going in an unknown direction.
