Police file charges against 2 men in murder of 33-year-old woman

CHAMBERS COUNTY – One man has been charged with murder and another with tampering/fabricating physical evidence after police positively identified a woman found dead on Saturday.

Daniel Jeremy Heredia, 25, is charged with murder and William Joseph Griffin, 22, is charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence in the death of Jennifer Morgan Rivers, 33.

Heredia is being held in jail with no bond. Griffin is being held in jail on $35,000 bond.

Police said Rivers was killed from an apparent gunshot wound suffered in an recreation vehicle on June 25 in Comal County at a camp ground on the Guadalupe River. Her body was transported to Wallisville, where she was found.

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers, are continuing to investigate Rivers' death.
