Man kidnapped, forced into car trunk, robbed

HOUSTON – Three robbers kidnapped a 47-year-old man, forced him into the trunk of his car and drove around trying to use his debit card, according to police.

Investigators said the victim was returning to his home in the 14400 block of Pavilion Point on May 17 when a man with a gun approached him.

Police said the suspect pointed the gun at the man and ordered him to get back in his car, a 2006 gray-colored Honda Accord.

Two other suspects, both wearing hooded sweatshirts, forced the victim into the trunk of his car, police said.

The victim told police the robbers drove to different ATM locations around Synott Plaza on Bellaire Boulevard trying to access his debit card.

The victim said he gave the robbers his debit card number, but they were unable to get any money.

Around 4 a.m. on May 18, they forced the victim out of his car in the 3300 block of South Briar Knoll, police said.

The victim flagged down a passing police officer, who took him home.

The victim's car has not been found.
