HOUSTON – A man is in the hospital after a police chase in northeast Houston.

According to Houston police, an officer spotted three men in a white truck with fake paper plates in southwest Houston.

The truck did not stop and the officers chased them to Homestead and Ley roads.

Police said the truck ran a red light and slammed into a Dodge Durango.

The driver in the Durango was transported to the hospital in stable condition, complaining about neck pain.

Another accident happened at this intersection when police said a drunken driver rear-ended the police car involved in the chase. There is no word if that driver was arrested.

Officers are working with the auto-theft division to figure out if the stolen vehicle charges will be added to his list of charges.
