Home invasion turns into homicide, suspects on the run

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a man was shot in north Houston on June 11.

Police said George WIlliam Edmond Jr., 36, was killed around 9:45 a.m. in the 8200 block of Willow Street.

According to police, around 9:10 a.m., Edmond's wife answered a knock at the door. Two armed men forced their way inside the house and demanded money.

When one of the men went upstairs, a fight broke out between him and Edmond. Edmond was shot one time and the two men left the house.

Police said Edmond chased the men out of the house and was shot at least one more time. He then collapsed on a neighbor's porch.

The men are described as black -- one with braided hair with beads on the end and a dark complexion, the other is clean shaved with short hair and a medium complexion.

Witnesses said they left the scene in a gray 4-door sedan.
