Well water testing fee waived for flood victims

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A proclamation for well water testing was signed Friday by County Judge Matt Sebesta.

The proclamation provides that residents affected by the flooding of the Brazos River, Oyster Creek and other tributaries in Brazoria County may have their water wells tested. This includes residents living within areas of concern that could also have possible contamination.

Residents who have been affected by floodwaters or who live in the areas affected by recent flooding may obtain testing materials from the Brazoria County Water Lab.

The Brazoria County Water Lab will waive the testing fee for samples provided by affected residents.

Residents must provide their address, which must fall within the determined locations affected by the flooded areas within Brazoria County.

To obtain instructions and water collection supplies, go to the Brazoria County Water Lab at 409 East Orange in Angleton.

Water from wells must be collected using a sample container provided by the Brazoria County Water Lab, which will also provide instructions on collecting water samples. For additional information, click here.
