Family robbed after men posing as police officers force way into apartment

HOUSTON – What took place Friday morning in a southwest Houston apartment may be worse than scary.

The family, which asked to not be identified, said that around 4 a.m., three men forced their way into their apartment at the Parque at Bellaire Apartments on the 7000 block of Cook Road.

At first the residents thought the men were Houston police officers, because at least one of them had what appeared to be an HPD patch on his sleeve.

But these men were not police.

The family says they were tied, kicked, stomped and punched.

Also, there were three young children in the apartment.

The family says the intruders had their eye on a baby girl.

They didn't take the baby -- nor was she hurt.

Houston police said the trio did take wallets, cash and a gold chain, though.

Then they beat the girls' father and uncle.
