Cat found burned, stabbed in cemetery
Crime believed to be a sacrifice ritual
FORT WORTH, Texas – A cat is clinging to life after he was found burned and stabbed in a Fort Worth cemetery.
Police and firefighters found the cat, named Poe, over the weekend. He is believed to be the victim of a sacrifice ritual.
Veterinarians say an accelerant was used to burn Poe. Someone also stabbed him twice in the chest. Poe is showing signs of progress.
"He's purring, purring right now," said Benjamin Morris of Animal Hope shelter. "I mean, that's what you want to see."
Police are checking a water bottle that they found at the cemetery to try to track down whoever set Poe on fire.
