Man charged with murder in Houston shooting

Shooting reported in June 2015 at Exxon service station

HOUSTON – Houston police arrested a man who is charged in a fatal shooting last summer at 2211 North Freeway.

Michael Alexander Mejia, 23, is charged with murder in the death of Jacob Bowman, 20, of Houston on June 15, 2015.

Bowman was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD officers said Bowman was changing a flat tire at an Exxon service station when someone in a small white four-door sedan pulled up. Police said the front passenger fired several shots at Bowman, killing him.

Investigators determined that Bowman and Mejia had a fight earlier in the evening. Mejia was arrested on Tuesday without incident.
