Man pretends to be customer, robs dollar store

HOUSTON – A man pretending to be a customer robbed a dollar store and threatened two employees.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, in the 800 block of Post Street.

Police said the robber walked into the business and up to the counter, demanding that the employees open the safe.

Fearing for their lives, the women complied and gave him the cash, police said.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police described the robber as a black man with black hair and brown eyes, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark green, hooded sweatshirt, dark beanie cap and dark jeans at the time of the robbery, according to reports.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
