LAMAR COUNTY, Texas – Lamar Consolidated Independent School District officials said six of its schools that are closed on Thursday due to the weather will not be required to make up the day.
Thursday, the district is closing the following schools:

- Austin Elementary School
- Frost Elementary School
- Jackson Elementary School
- Wertheimer Middle School
- Briscoe Junior High
- Foster High School
School officials said Foster High School and Briscoe Junior High students will have the option of exempting all finals due to the extenuating circumstances, or they can complete them between June 7 and 9.
The district said any students who do not attend the schools mentioned, but are displaced due to the weather and unable to attend school, parents are asked to contact the child’s campus. Absences will be excused.
