Store employee injured after jumping on bed of truck

HOUSTON – Police said a convenience store employee was injured Tuesday during a truck robbery that happened in the 5700 block of Glenmont Drive in Houston.

At 2:28 p.m., a man walked into the convenience store and bought a lottery ticket. As he was leaving, he saw a truck parked in front of the store with the doors open and the keys in the ignition.

The man jumped in the driver's side seat, turned on the truck and tried to drive off. A store employee jumped on the bed of the truck as the man sped off, causing the employee to fall on his head, police said.

The employee's condition is not known.

The man fled the convenience store in an unknown direction.
