Deputies seek information about man accused of breaking into apartment
Man allegedly admits taking picture of victim's ID taken from purse
STAFFORD, Texas – Deputies are seeking information from anyone who has had any encounters with a man charged with burglarizing a woman's apartment.
Terrence Tan, 43, is accused of entering the female resident's unit at the Silverbrooke Apartments at 1020 Brand Lane at 8:30 a.m. on May 17.
Deputies said the resident returned to her apartment while he was still inside.
It was learned through an investigation Tan had conducted surveillance on the victim for several months, deputies said. He would wait for her to leave her apartment for her morning walk and he would enter the apartment without her knowledge.
Deputies said Tan admitted removing the victim's identification card from her purse and taking a picture of it for his own use, saying he felt like he was closer to her by knowing her name.
Tan was in the Fort Bend County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, deputies said. He is charged with burglary of a habitation.
Anyone who may have had a similar experience with Tan is asked to call the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-4670.
