HOUSTON – A man is behind bars Friday after investigators said he fatally shot a person in southwest Houston.
Edis Lopez, 29, has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Jose Antonio Hernandez, 34.

According to investigators, Hernandez was drinking with friends in his apartment complex parking lot at 5840 Glenmont Drive when an armed man approached him. Police said Lopez shot Hernandez multiple time before running off.
Hernandez was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation led Houston police to Lopez, who was arrested Tuesday.
