Police search for man who allegedly stole iPad from Houston apartment

Apartment complex has had 20 burglaries in last three months, police said

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and Houston police are asking for the public's help identifying a man they say broke into an apartment on March 31.

Police said a resident of the apartment returned home and found that his iPad and several other items had been stolen. He said he received a photo from the stolen iPad on April 1. The photo showed a black man.

Witnesses said they saw two black men leaving the apartment and driving away in a silver Chevy Malibu or Impala after the burglary.

The man is described as 18-22 years old with a small tattoo of a cross below his right eye. He was wearing a white T-shirt.

Police said the apartment complex has had over 20 burglaries in the last three months.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the charging or arrest of the thief.
