Police: Man made dog attack girlfriend

Houston police say they arrested a man in southwest Houston for making his dog attack his girlfriend.

On Saturday night, police found the man and his girlfriend, who had been beaten, outside their apartment complex on El Camino Del Ray Street.

The girlfriend was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

She told police her boyfriend hit her and made his dog attack her. She had severe bruising on her face and a bite marks on her stomach, according to police.

The Houston Police Department had to call the SWAT team after the man ran inside the apartment and refused to come out. They negotiated with the man for hours until he came out of the apartment early Sunday morning.

No shots were fired.

He is now in custody facing an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
