Woman's body found in west Houston

HOUSTON – A mystery is unfolding in west Houston at the Sam Houston Waste Transfer Station in the 1100 block of the Sam Houston Parkway.

A gruesome discovery was made amongst the piles of trash just before 8 a.m.

Waste management employees were sorting through the garbage when they discovered the body of an African-American woman believed to be between 20-40 years old.

She was dressed in a leopard print shirt, a tan skirt and black shoes. Who she is, how she died and how she got to the transfer station are questions we still can’t answer.

Houston police homicide investigators were called to the scene by the Houston Fire Department.

It’s unclear if detectives have been able to develop any leads.

A spokesperson with waste management tells Channel 2, the company has provided police with the logs of all the trucks so they can go back and retrace the routes of the trucks to determine what area of town the body came from.

Anyone with information on her identity or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
