Driver cut from car after slamming into pickup truck

HOUSTON – A man is in serious condition after a crash that left him pinned inside his car in northeast Houston.

Police said the driver of a Chevy Nova slammed into the back of a pick-up truck, with three people inside, on Mesa and East Houston just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

According to investigators, the driver of the Chevy didn't see the truck slow down for another car.

Emergency crews had to rescue him from the Chevy using the Jaws of Life.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition and is expected to be OK.

One man in the truck was treated for minor injuries.
