Deputies investigating series of thefts across Wharton, Jackson counties

WHARTON COUNTY, Texas – The Wharton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for those responsible for several thefts at various businesses in the El Campo area.

Investigators said the same person may responsible for a series of thefts that are being investigators by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said those crimes also involved the stealing of oilfield equipment.

Deputies said the property stolen range from trucks, electronic equipment to booms and chains. Investigators said the thieves have cut locks in order to get into the business.

The offices said those responsible may be driving a small dark-colored car.
