Astros vs. Yankees game postponed due to inclement weather

The Opening Day Astros vs. Yankees game in New York has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET/ noon CT time.

Both teams made announcements on Twitter.

The Astros are one of four teams featured on the covers of Sports Illustrated's baseball preview issues, but that's not the most exciting part about it.  SI has chosen the Astros to win the World Series this year.

The highly-anticipated game has the city abuzz.  The Empire State Building was briefly lit up in orange and blue, in honor of the Astros.  It also displayed colors of other competing teams.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch said the team was ready to hit the field Monday, and will be just as ready on Tuesday.

"Opening day never gets old no matter how many you have. I told our team yesterday there are a few guys in there that are having their first Opening Day," Hinch said.  "It's a special day, it's going to be a special day tomorrow and watching the games yesterday, there's an itch to get out on the field and participate in these games.  Having it be at Yankee Stadium, there's a lot of history here."
