Woman accused of slicing husband with box cutter

Shelia Gillespie, 27, charged with aggravated assault

SAN ANTONIO – Shelia Gillespie, 27, is accused of reaching down into her husband's car through its sunroof and slicing him with a box cutter in Northeast Bexar County.

Bexar County sheriff's detectives arrested Gillespie Sunday on a charge of aggravated assault.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that deputies responded to a home in the 7400 block of Cinnabar last Friday and found the man suffering from cuts on his arm and eye.

He and and Gillespie reportedly are going through a divorce. The affidavit stated that he told investigators that Gillespie showed up at his mother's home and began arguing with him and hitting him in the face.

The man told detectives he convinced Gillespie to leave the home. However, when he left the home about four hours later, he said he noticed Gillespie following him in her car, the affidavit stated.

At one point, he said, Gillespie blocked him in on a cul de sac, then jumped onto his car and began stabbing him through the sunroof with a box cutter, the affidavit said.

The man suffered cuts to his arm and eye, the report stated.

Gillespie was not at the scene when investigators arrived. They tracked her down and arrested her Sunday.
