Man dies after crashing into light post, tree, taco truck

HOUSTON – A man died Monday morning when the vehicle he was in crashed into a light post, a tree and a taco truck in north Houston, according to police.

The accident was reported shortly after 6 a.m. in the 7700 block of Airline and Gurney. Police said a black Chevrolet Suburban was going north on Airline when the vehicle veered off the road, hit a wooden light post and went airborne. The SUV then hit a tree and a taco truck before it came to a stop in a furniture store parking lot.

A 30-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses spoke to a woman who said she was involved in the accident. Officers found the woman near the crash scene and took her into custody.

Her relationship with the victim is unclear.

No charges have been filed. The investigation is continuing.
