The fire broke out just after 2:30 a.m. at the home in the 7800 block of Glover. Firefighters arrived and found the house engulfed in flames and heavy smoke. During a search of the home, crews found Gueldner inside and had to pull him out. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition and treated for burns.
Gueldner's friend, Samuel Barraza, said it's been a trying couple of years for the producer . Two years ago Gueldner's mother was sexually assaulted and beaten to death near a downtown business.
The Houston Fire Department Arson Bureau is investigating the cause of the fire.
