High-speed chase ends with two in custody in east Houston
HOUSTON – Police have taken two people into custody after a high-speed chase ended in east Houston.
The pursuit began on the La Porte Freeway near Goodyear Road when the driver of the vehicle failed to stop for traffic. The chase reached speeds over 100 mph.
Two people bailed out of the vehicle on Heather Row Lane and Westgard Boulevard after getting stuck in mud. Police got stuck in the mud as well. With the help of a helicopter crew, police caught both people and have them in custody. Emergency medical services staff are checking out the suspects for minor injuries.
At this time, it is not known what, if any, charges they may be facing.
